Messi"s Dangerous Left Foot |
To buy the man
himself may cost you a whooping $335 million - reported CNN Sports. But if you're
just after Lionel Messi's favored left foot, then it could be all yours for a bargain
of $5.25 million.
Messi broke all
records on the way to scoring an unparalleled 91 goals for club and country in 2012,
surpassing the previous record of 85 goals set by Germany's Gerd Muller in 1972.
And his left foot counted more for those goals - that's what is in the offering
today. So you could as well buy-off Messi's most 'dangerous foot.'
Well, that was
what the Japanese jeweler, Ginza Tanaka, thought when he took the original mold of Messi's
left foot in Tokyo, and created a 25 kilogram solid gold of the Barcelona player's
favored foot. This is actually what will be put on sale today.
Golden Statute Of Messi"s Left Foot |
Messi, who was
named as the best player in the world for the fourth consecutive time, after picking
up the prestigious Ballon d'Or in January, has this sale in commemoration of his love for
Charity.
Part of the profits
from the sale will go to help some of the people affected by the earthquake and
tsunami, which hit Japan two years ago. This will be administered by the Leo Messi
Foundation.
The statue itself
has all tendency to increase in value as Messi continue to put in '24 carat' performance
and he has not shown any sign of relenting at all.
He has scored
50 goals so far this season, helping Barcelona to the top of La' liga. Messi also
helped overturn a two goal first - leg deficit from Italian AC milan team, by scoring
twice in the 4 - 0 win at Nou Camp; and helping Barcelona progress into the quarter
finals stage of the on-going UEFA champions league.
